Accommodations:
Participants are encouraged to camp onsite for the duration of the week (shower and toilet facilities provided, participants must bring their own camping gear). Good, private campsites are plentiful among the woods and rock formations, both right next to the base camp and as far away as you'd like to be, and the conditions in August make for warm, dry evenings, perfect for camping. We will be happy to help you find a site when you arrive. All meals are included, along with all the other civilized amenities, and you'll be close to your work. Alternatively, off-site Accommodations are available in nearby Nederland, Colorado, 20 miles away, the big city of the area and an interesting (or odd) community in its own right; it is home, for example, to the annual Frozen Dead Guy Days, framed around the cryogenically frozen grandfather who "lives" in a tuff shed. Draw your own conclusions. See below for further details. Participants are responsible for booking their own accommodations if staying off-site. Note: daily transportation can be arranged to and from the Camp for those participants staying in Nederland. We will do our best to hook up interested participants who wish to share a room at either the hostel or the hotel.
New options may emerge, so stay tuned!
